The Space Coast Filipino American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. wants everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification or other assistive technology.

Standard

The website is built to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. It partially conforms: most of the site meets the standard, with the exceptions listed under Known limitations below.

What we have done

  • Every page can be used with a keyboard alone, and a "Skip to main content" link is the first thing you reach.
  • Pages use headings, landmarks and labels that screen readers can announce.
  • Posters, logos and featured photos must have a text description before the website will publish them, and event details are also written out as text on each event page.
  • Animations are turned off when your device is set to reduce motion, and the website works without JavaScript.
  • Text and controls are checked for sufficient color contrast.
  • Every change to the website is tested automatically against WCAG 2.2 Level AA rules before it goes live.

Known limitations

  • Event posters are images that contain text. Each has a written description, and the event's details appear as text on the page, but some details printed on a poster, such as phone numbers, are not repeated in its description.
  • Photos in event galleries are described only by their position and event (for example, "Photo 3 of 20 from Meet an Astronaut"), not by what each photo shows.
  • Links to other websites, such as Facebook, Google Maps and our sponsors, lead to pages we do not control.
